Taking Time Off
Today I went back to Competitive Fitness after having not been since Friday - 4 days off doesn’t seem like much. Saturday I didn’t feel well, Sunday was my normal day off, Monday I was at the lake, and yesterday clients and time conspired to keep me at work instead of the gym.
Today kicked my ass.

Finding the Zone
For me, the past two weeks of the Fatt-Off have been a bit challenging, to say the least.
While I had lost 5.2 lbs the first two weeks, I really wanted to see myself go further, push harder and come out stronger the next two. I already eat a fairly healthy selection of food to begin with. I drink only water, tea and coffee out of preference and generally do not indulge in anything fast food ever....
Losing or Gaining?
Theoretically we’re all here to lose weight during the Fatoff. Realistically though we’re doing more than just losing
We’re losing weight but we are gaining muscle (hopefully)
We’re losing weight but we are gaining a better understanding of how to eat right
We’re losing some of our free time at the gym but we’re gaining some great friends and motivators

Update: Matt Lamp blows us all out of the water
Matt Lamp wasn’t able to weigh in yesterday, but came in this afternoon to make it up.
He also posted the biggest loss to date: a massive 19.6 pounds, taking him down 8% over his original weight, and putting him far in the lead.
This is getting interesting…
Litany Against Fear
Chris sent this to me today in regards to my admittance that I am afraid of falling through things. It’s a lot different than being afraid of heights or afraid of falling. It’s also really one of the only fears I have. I can’t stand climbing ladders, stairs that have no backing, and walking across grates. My friends had a field day at Hanny’s forcing me onto the elevator...
I'm here for the food. I'll stay for the food.
Food is a big deal. Especially to me. Do you have any idea the impact that the #fatoff is having on me, on my comfy foods? All of the stuff in our pantry goes virtually untouched now, and we are now lfinding ourselves pawing through the produce drawers in our fridge. It’s quite the shift. The upside is that less veggies are actually going to waste. The downside? All I can think about are...
Status Update!
(Sent this e-mail out to participants this morning, and thought I’d share it here as well…)
Five things!
1) WEDNESDAY WEIGH-IN
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is one of the obligatory bi-weekly weigh-ins. To avoid possible disqualification, please come in tomorrow afternoon or evening to get your official weight recorded.
I have a meeting in Phoenix (which used to be at Gangplank, hence...

Competitive Fitness FTW
I finally was able to make it to Competitive Fitness on Saturday after spending the first week of Fatoff on vacation and then having my birthday. My legs are still killing me today when I sit down or walk up and down stairs. I hope this passes.
I was so excited about their philosophies and what they have to offer that I had to be the first to review them on Yelp.
Weight Gain, Oh My!
So we had our unofficial weigh in yesterday, and while I had weighed my self every day and new I hadn’t lost much, to my surprise, I had gained 3 lbs. But how is that possible? I have been dieting. I have been working out. Just this morning my belt had no more notches to use. The scale must be broken.
Truth? You might gain weight and that is a good thing. We didn’t do Body Mass...

Two Days at Competitive Fitness - Chris Conrey's...
After the super awesome sponsorship was offered by Competitive Fitness, I took it upon myself to take Jason up on it and see what I could do. Two days later, I’m going to share my first impressions and experiences here.
On Tuesday morning I showed up in my gym gear and ready to start my Workout Baseline test. I warmed up with a jog on the treadmills then some stretching while Jason came...

Competitive Fitness Rocks the Fatoff Competitors
Jason Speck over at Competitive Fitness has really stepped up to the plate here for the Fatoff folks. Today Shaun Jacob and Chris Conrey went over to the Competitive Fitness gym down the street from Gangplank to meet with Jason and find out about a potential sponsorship/partnership.
Jason gave us a tour of the facilities and a brief insight into his philosophy. “We don’t train to...
