On August 12th, 2009, eighteen brave (and chubby) individuals gathered at Gangplank in Chandler, Arizona to begin an epic weight-loss challenge.
They each put in $100, and after eight weeks, the winner takes all.
This is their story.
Food is a big deal. Especially to me. Do you have any idea the impact that the #fatoff is having on me, on my comfy foods? All of the stuff in our pantry goes virtually untouched now, and we are now lfinding ourselves pawing through the produce drawers in our fridge. It’s quite the shift. The upside is that less veggies are actually going to waste. The downside? All I can think about are those lonely yummies in the cupboard!
Today Veronica and I officially started the zone diet. I admit, I’m really impressed with it. It makes a lot of sense, and I can’t really say that I felt hungry all day. I actually was stuffed after both breakfast and lunch. There’s no room for mess-ups in this diet, which is kinda rough (its not like weight-watchers), but I definitely see the value of it. I already felt better today, eating properly. Its even got some comedic elements, like the ONE macadamia nut that you’re allowed to snack on with your glass of milk. Or the FOUR cups of spinach that you eat raw with your lunch. It makes tons of sense…but really! I must say that after the final weigh-in, I might treat myself to some cupboard loveliness. I mean after all, gotta spread the love.
